Reception at Pier 21 and Lobster Dinner with Dancing at the Cunard Centre

Join us in experiencing the sights, sounds and tastes of Halifax all in one evening. Begin your evening at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 where you’ll live through the moving journey that many families took to start a new life in Canada – do not miss this experience!* A few steps away on Pier 23 is the Cunard Centre. The Centre is a waterfront cargo shed which will be the stage for our lobster dinner. If you haven’t eaten Nova Scotia lobster in Nova Scotia, then you haven’t really eaten lobster! From the lobster parade to checkered tablecloths and local musical talent, you will be sure to have a memorable night!

Transportation provided:

A shuttle service will provide transportation all evening between the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel, the Prince George Hotel and Pier 21 / Cunard Centre:

  • First Departure for Pier 21: 1745 from the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel
  • Last Departure for hotels: 2315 from the Cunard Centre
  • Casual attire
  • Included for Full Program delegates and registered companions.
  • Cost of an additional ticket: $125 plus applicable taxes.

If you know the date of arrival or the name of the ship, they can provide you with a ship information package which typically includes ship facts, oral histories, and a list of crossings. They currently have information on approximately 90 per cent of the immigrant ships that stopped in Halifax. Most of these ships also called on other Canadian ports, and they are continuously expanding our resources to include any missing ships. Come dressed to the nines and prepare to be wined and dined Nova Scotia style at our President’s Reception and Banquet. Halifax has a cosmopolitan and eclectic food scene so we invite you to come enjoy an evening of local food and wine and also recap the week’s events with friends and colleagues. The evening’s entertainment will want to make you hit the dance floor in style!
