Welcome
Dear Friends and Colleagues,For the first time, Prince Edward Island will host the Canadian Urological Association’s Annual Meeting. Wonderful CUA experiences at past resort locations promise to be repeated as the CUA moves to the Maritimes.
Prince Edward Island is known for its beautiful rolling landscape, spectacular vistas and beaches, red sandstone cliffs, and the friendly, gentle nature of its people. In the summer, PEI comes alive with festivals, concerts, theatre, and recreation, including some of the continent’s best golfing experiences.
The Annual Meeting will continue its tradition of offering delegates an outstanding scientific programme, designed to meet the needs of all urologists. Review the programme, where issues relevant to daily practice will be presented by an impressive contingent of acknowledged experts.
The social programme will, as per CUA tradition, be a definite highlight, showcasing some of the finest cuisine and east coast entertainment available. The Welcome Reception is at Memorial Hall, the monument to Confederation, where great food, music, and a time to meet friends and colleagues are mixed with encounters with historic figures. The Fun Night, held on the waterfront at the Seaport Event Centre, will be full-throttle fun from beginning to end. PEI agriculture and fishery will be showcased and their products served in abundance. Later, East Coast Music Awards-nominated and nationally-celebrated Celtic rockers Rawlins Cross will showcase their incredible talent and broad appeal.
Throughout the events, Chef Michael Smith will plan and oversee all menus and presentations of food at the Welcome Reception, the Fun Night, and the climax culinary event, the President’s Banquet.
Programming for accompanying persons, and for children will allow families to attend and enjoy the experience. Prior to the meeting, golfers can explore the acclaimed Links at Crowbush Cove or any other of the 26 award-winning courses in PEI: ‘Canada’s Top Golf Destination’.
Come, bring your family, and plan to stay awhile. Find a resort, a bed and breakfast, a historic inn, or a beach-front cottage after the conference. Check out www.peiplay.com or the housing section of this website for more information.
See you in June!
