Welcome Message

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the 81st Annual Meeting of the Canadian Urological Association (CUA), hosted for the first time in the exciting city of Saskatoon. This milestone event continues the proud tradition of bringing together the urological community from across Canada and beyond.

The CUA Annual Meeting remains the premier gathering for urologists in the country—an essential forum for the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge, clinical advancements, and collaborative dialogue. It is a unique opportunity for colleagues to network, reconnect, and collectively advance the field of urology.

The continued success and growth of our association—and indeed our meeting—would not be possible without the unwavering support of our industry partners. Your commitment allows the CUA to uphold its role as the singular national voice for urology in Canada. We are grateful for the enduring partnerships that enable us to deliver high-quality education, foster innovation, and support urologists at every stage of their careers.

Moreover, the CUA’s strength lies in its inclusive and multidisciplinary approach. Our partnerships extend beyond industry to encompass other allied health organizations, including medical oncology and GUMOC, radiation oncology and GUROC, urology nurses of Canada, nurses in oncology, nuclear medicine, and pharmacy. The integration of these perspectives into our scientific and educational programs enhances its impact and relevance, ensuring that our community remains at the forefront of patient-centered care.

As we come together in Saskatoon, I am confident that this year’s meeting will not only inspire but also reinforce the strong bonds between our organization, our partners, and the broader healthcare landscape. I look forward to seeing you there and to the continued growth of our shared mission.

Dr. Wassim Kassouf

Land Acknowledgment

We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis people. We reaffirm our relations which we are bound to by our ancestors through Treaty, to steward this land and seek mutual benefit for as long as the grass grows, the sun shines, and the river flows. We pay our respect to the First Nation and Métis ancestors of this place and honour Elders and Survivors as we bring awareness to Indian Residential and Day Schools, the Sixties Scoop, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirited. To acknowledge this territory and its keepers on their traditional terms is to act in reciprocity so that truth may be understood, and reconciliation made possible.
